FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College Department of Athletics and Recreation is deeply saddened to announce the passing of former baseball head coach
Ed Tatarian, affectionately known as Coach T, who passed away on Saturday, June 14.
A proud Queens native, Coach Tatarian served as head coach of the Knights baseball program from 1992 to 1998, compiling an impressive 118 wins over seven seasons. Under his leadership, the program flourished, earning five New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) postseason appearances, capturing two NYCAC Regular Season Championships, and winning one NYCAC Tournament title.
In 1998, Coach T guided the Knights to a historic season, securing the program's first-ever NYCAC Championship and earning a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament—another program first. That landmark season saw the team finish with a 29-9 overall record and achieve a No. 10 national ranking, the highest in program history.
The Queens College Athletics community extends its deepest condolences to Coach Tatarian's family, friends, former players, and all who were fortunate to know and learn from him.

The teams I played on the Queens College in 1997 and 1998 were some of the best teams ever at Queens. He did an amazing job bringing a group of guys together and getting us to play for one common goal a championship. RIP Coach"
