FLUSHING, N.Y. – Former Queens College baseball standout
Jorsixt Jimenez has made his childhood dream a reality, signing a free agent contract with the New York Yankees on Monday, July 13.
Jimenez spent two seasons under head coach
Chris Reardon and played an instrumental role in helping the Knights record back-to-back 30-win seasons in 2023 and 2024.
In his first season in Flushing, Jimenez enjoyed one of the finest rookie campaigns in program history. He became just the second player in Queens College history to earn East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year honors while also garnering All-ECC First Team and All-Region recognition. He helped lead the Knights to their second ECC Championship title and first since the 1998 season.
Jimenez followed up his stellar rookie season with another outstanding campaign in 2024, earning NCBWA All-America Honorable Mention honors while helping Queens post another 30-win season.
Over his two-year career with the Knights, the everyday right fielder Jimenez appeared in 101 games, making 97 starts while posting a .384 batting average. He totaled 146 hits, including 37 doubles, three triples, and 13 home runs, while scoring 90 runs and driving in 105. He also drew 55 walks and added 21 stolen bases during his decorated collegiate career.
