DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Queens College baseball team concluded its 2026 season Saturday afternoon in Dobbs Ferry, falling to Mercy University, 13-11, in East Coast Conference action at Mercy Field.
The Knights collected eight hits on the day, led by sophomore
Peter Bounougias (Plainview, N.Y.), who posted a multi-hit performance and drove in two runs. Rookie
John Harkins (Babylon, N.Y.), senior
Vincent Mallon (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore
Tommy Pasqua (Williston Park, N.Y.) combined for three hits, and eight RBI in the contest.
Rookie right-hander
Noah Kirwin (Manorville, N.Y.) turned in a career-best outing in a no-decision, tossing 7.0 innings while allowing 10 hits, two earned runs, and striking out five in his fifth collegiate start.
Mercy opened the scoring in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead.
Queens answered in the second after loading the bases with two outs. Mallon drew a walk to force in the tying run before Bounougias lined a two-run single to center, giving the Knights a 3-1 advantage.
Kirwin settled in on the mound as Queens extended the lead in the fourth. After two hit batters put runners aboard, Mallon ripped a two-run triple to left-center field. He later scored on a wild pitch, and Pasqua followed with a two-run single to push the lead to 8-1.
The Mavericks trimmed the deficit to 8-2 in the bottom of the inning, but Queens responded with two more runs in the sixth. Harkins drew a bases-loaded walk before Mallon added a sacrifice fly to make it 10-2.
Pasqua added another RBI in the seventh as the Knights built an 11-2 cushion.
Mercy mounted a late comeback, scoring 11 unanswered runs over the final two innings to rally for the 13-11 victory.
