COLONIA, N.J. – In the East Coast Conference's final weekly report of the season, three members of the Queens College baseball team earned conference honors Monday afternoon.
Rookie
John Harkins (Babylon, N.Y.) was named Rookie of the Week, while senior
Vincent Mallon (Massapequa, N.Y.) and rookie
Noah Kirwin (Manorville, N.Y.) were both named to the Honor Roll sheet.
Rookie of the Week
In the final four-game ECC series of the season, Harkins batted .455 with a .714 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. He totaled five hits, two home runs, five walks, four RBI, and a team-best seven runs scored. Harkins added two multi-hit games and one multi-RBI performance to close his rookie campaign with nine multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games.
Honor Roll
In the final four-game ECC series of the season, Mallon led the Knights with a team-best .583 batting average, .700 on-base percentage, and 1.333 slugging percentage. He totaled seven hits, one double, one triple, two home runs, six walks, six runs scored, and a team-high eight RBI. On Friday, Mallon tied the program's single-season record with his 13th home run after belting two homers in game two against Mercy. He recorded a hit in all four games and posted two multi-hit and two multi-RBI performances, finishing the year with a team-best 19 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games.
Honor Roll
In a no-decision during his fifth career start of the season, Kirwin delivered a career-best outing against Mercy in the final game of the year. Kirwin tossed 7.0 innings, allowing 10 hits and two earned runs while striking out five batters.
