FLUSHING, N.Y. – It will be a five-game week for the Queens College baseball team as the Knights open the week in non-conference play before concluding the weekend in East Coast Conference play.
The week opens in West Haven, CT on Wednesday (Apr. 10) afternoon as the Knights match up against the Chargers of the University of New Haven. On Friday (Apr. 12) afternoon the Knights travel to Staten Island for game one of the fourth ECC series of the year against the College of Staten Island Dolphins. The Dolphins will come to Flushing for a Saturday (Apr. 13) afternoon doubleheader before the Knights conclude the series in Staten Island on Sunday (Apr. 14) afternoon.
In the recent National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
(NCBWA) East Region Week Eight Poll, the Knights are ranked fifth in the region as they received 49 points. Earlier in the year, the Knights received votes in the National Poll for the first time since 1998.

- Head coach Chris Reardon and the Knights enter the week with an overall record of 16-13 and 7-5 in conference play. As injuries piled up for the Knights in Niagara Falls, Queens dropped their first ECC series of the year to D'Youville falling 1-3.
- Sophomore right fielder Jorsixt Jimenez (Flushing, N.Y.) leads the offense averaging a team-high .400 BA, 1.165 OPS%, .673 SLG% with 44 hits, 13 doubles, one triple, five home runs, 33 RBI, 26 runs scored to go with 18 walks and 10 stolen bases.
- Jimenez has recorded 14 (8 (2), 5 (3), 1 (4)) multi-hit games to go with 12 (8 (2), 3 (3), 1 (4)) multi-RBI games on the year.
- On Monday (Apr. 1) Jimenez earned a spot on the ECC Weekly Report Sheet for the fourth time.

- On Thursday (Apr. 4) Jimenez was named NCBWA East Regional Player of the Week for the first time this year.
- Junior third baseman Robert Jacobsen (Temecula, CA.) holds a batting average of .354 .907 OPS%, .444 SLG% with 35 hits, nine doubles, 16 RBI, 15 walks, and 21 runs scored.
- Jacobsen has recorded 12 (8 (2), 3 (3), 1 (4)) multi-hit games and five (2) multi-RBI games on the year.
- On March 8 against Goldey-Beacom Jacobsen recorded a season-best four hits with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI in the 12-11 comeback victory.
- On the mound, freshman righty Michael Vilardi (Massapequa, N.Y.) leads the Knights with four wins having pitched 28.2 innings while allowing 32 hits, 14 earned runs, 12 walks, and has struck out 18 batters.
- On Monday (Apr. 1) Vilardi was named Pitcher & Rookie of the Week for the first time.
- Vilardi pitched his first career complete game in the 10-4 victory over Mercy on March 30, 2024.
- While junior righty Nick Kozerski (Hicksville, N.Y.) has recorded three wins in 18.2 innings allowing 16 hits, nine earned runs, four walks, and has struck out 15 batters in nine appearances.
University of New Haven Chargers Preview (15-14 Overall Record)

- The Chargers enter the week with an overall record of 15-13 and are coming off an 8-7 loss to Southern Connecticut State on Tuesday afternoon in NE10 play.
- It will be the first meeting against the Chargers since the 2018 season when both sides met each other in Myrtle Beach with the Chargers earning a 10-2 victory over Queens. The Knights are looking for their first win over the Chargers since 2007 when Queens earned a 9-1 victory in Flushing.
- Wednesday's game will be the first of two meetings this year with the Chargers slated to return the game in Flushing in May.
- Owen Prince leads the offense batting a team-high .329 with 24 hits, two doubles, two triples, 11 RBI, and 15 runs scored to go with nine walks.
- While Shaun Callahan is averaging .324 with 24 hits, three doubles, one triple, and two home runs, tied for first in RBI with 18, 14 runs scored and 14 walks on the year.
- On the mound, Randy Ramnarace leads the pitching staff with four wins in 27.2 innings pitched allowing 25 hits, 14 earned runs, 22 walks, and has struck out 33 batters.
College of Staten Island Dolphins Preview (11-16 Overall Record, 6-6 ECC)

- The Dolphins enter the week with an overall record of 11-16 and 6-6 in conference play. CSI went 1-3 against STAC in ECC play over the weekend earning a DH split in Sparkill before dropping the last two games of the series at home.
- The Knights lead the overall series 9-2 with Queens earning a 3-1 ECC series victory last year.
- Chris Polemeni leads the offense batting a team-high .365 with 35 hits, six doubles, one triple, three home runs, 20 RBI, 10 walks, and has scored 25 runs.
- While AJ Vigliotti is batting .344 with 31 hits, seven doubles, one triple, one home run, 15 RBI, 19 walks, and has scored 22 runs.
- On the mound, Gerard Santos leads the staff with a team-high four wins in 36.2 innings pitched allowing 34 hits, nine earned runs, 15 walks, and has struck out 29 batters.

The Knights will open a two-game homestand on Tuesday (Apr. 16) afternoon in non-conference play as they welcome of Warriors of East Stroudsburg University to town for the first time in program history. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
