Box Score

FLUSHING, N.Y. - In a contest rescheduled due to rain earlier in the week, the Queens College baseball team fell to Bridgeport 6-5 in 10 innings Wednesday afternoon at Hennekens Stadium.  The Knights stranded 10 runners on base in the contest, including four over the first two innings.

After plating a run in the opening frame, the Purple Knights moved 3-0 with two runs in the fourth inning.  Alec Jannotta drove in a pair with a single to left field.

QC broke through with all five of its run in the bottom of the frame.  With just two hits, the Knights took advantage of three UB errors in the inning.  Senior Matt Dawkins scored on an outfield error, before sophomore Thomas Parish was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.  Senior Joe Morris produced an RBI groundout to third, and junior Kevin Kolesar drove in the final two runs of the inning with a single to right field.

The Purple Knights quickly evened the game at five in the top of the fifth, as Jose Negron plated Casey Ouellette with a single up the middle.  In the top of the tenth, UB plated the game winning run on a single by Jannotta.

Andrew Oswald (2-1) pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.  Calvin Luk (1-3) took the loss, surrendering the winning run in his one inning of work.

The Knights are the road Thursday afternoon at Bloomfield.
