Box Score Brookville, N.Y. - The Queens College baseball team received another strong pitching performance from Brandon Burrell on Sunday in a 7-2 win over LU Post in Brookville, New York. Burrell picked up his second win of the season with his complete game performance.
It looked ominous early for Queens as the Pioneers went on the attack early and scored twice in the first inning. The 2-0 lead lasted until the fifth.
In the fifth, Joseph Paparella and Joe Morris reached via hit by pitch. Later in the inning, Matt Dawkins laced an RBI single that drove in Paparella. Morris scored on the play when the ball was mishandled by the outfielder.
Queens put the game away with five runs in the sixth. With one out, Kevin Kolesar singled and Matthew Walsh was hit by a pitch. Paparella walked to load the bases. James Donohue then put a single into left-center, plating Kolesar and Walsh and putting QC up, 4-2. Morris followed with a triple that scored two more and the Knights led 6-2. He later scoed on a wild pitch.
The Queens College baseball team returns to action on Wednesday, April 29, when they host Wilmington at 3:00 PM.
