Box Score

Flushing, N.Y. - The Queens College baseball team was able to salvage the final game of a four game set with Molloy with a 2-1, 13-inning victory in Flushing on Sunday.  Diego Gonzalez drove in both runs for Queens.

For the fourth straight game, the Knights got strong starting pitching as Brandon Burrell took the mound on short rest.  He tossed seven innings, gave up just one run and struck out three.  Greg Gonzalez tossed 5.2 innings of scoreless relief and fanned five.  Thomas Zaki finished the game and picked up the win.

Queens took a 1-0 lead in the sixth inning.  Thomas Parish led off with an infield hit.  He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and got to third on a wild pitch.  From there, Gonzalez lifted a sacrifice fly to left that plated Parish.  The Lions got a run in the top of the seventh to the score at 1-1.

The game stayed at 1-1 until the bottom of the 13th.  Anthony Nunez led off with a single to center.  Parish followed with a base hit and both runners moved to second and third when the ball was misplayed in right.  Kevin Kolesar was intentionally walked to set up the force.  Gonzalez was next and he was hit by the pitch.  Nunez scored and the Knights won 2-1.

The Queens College baseball team returns to action on Tuesday, April 21, when they face Nyack.  The first pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
