Morris and Morici Each Collect RBI in Loss to Wilmington

Wilmington, Del. - The Queens College baseball team fell to regionally-ranked Wilmington, 4-2, in a baseball game played in Wilmington, Delaware on Tuesday.  Nick Morici and Joe Morris each had an RBI for the Knights.

 

Queens scored both of their runs in the fifth to take a 2-0 lead.  Dan Walsh led off and reached on an error.  James Donohoue followed and reached on a bunt.  Walsh and Donohue advanced when the Wildcats threw the ball away trying to pick off Donohue.  Morris put the Knights up 1-0 with an RBI ground out that scored Walsh.  Morici followed with a sacrifice bunt that scored Donohue.  QC led 2-0 after five innings.


Wilmington scored twice in the sixth to tie the game and tacked on two more in the eighth to win 4-2.  Calvin Luk earned the start and tossed six innings.  He gave up just two runs and got a no-decision.  Greg Gonzalez was tagged with the loss in relief.  Walsh hit a double for Queens.

 

The Queens College baseball team returns to action on Thursday, April 2, when they host Dowling.  The first pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
