Box Score Pomona, N.Y. - The Queens College baseball team lost to St. Thomas Aquinas, 13-4, in an East Coast Conference tilt from Provident Bank Park in Pomona, New York, on Monday. C.J. Gerdowsky drove in a pair for the Knights.
STAC took a 7-0 lead early on as they gt to QC start, Greg Gonzalez for seven runs in the first four innings. The Knights got on the board in the fifth when Gerdowski drove in Nick Osburn on an RBI ground out. Osburn via a hit by pitch and moved to third on a base hit from David Velazquez.
The Spartans scored six times off of Frank Kaplan in the fifth, but only one was earned. Trailing 13-1, Queens came to bat in the sixth. Joseph Paparella and Joe Morris singled and Lebro Burnette walked and the Knights had the bases loaded with just one out. Dan Walsh singled to shortstop and both Morris and Paparella scored on the play to make it 13-3. Three batters later, Gerdowsky drove in QC's fourth run with an infield hit. STAC went on to win 13-4.
Gonzalez took the loss and fell to 2-3. Gerdowsky and Walsh had the RBIs in the game.
The Queens College baseball team returns to action on Friday, April 25, when they face Molloy on the road. The first pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
