Box Score 2 Ramapo, N.Y. – On the final Saturday in April, Queens
College baseball fell to STAC in an ECC twinbill. Game one went
STAC's way 14-3 and 4-0 in game two.
Game
One
In game one, the ECC leading St. Thomas Aquinas Spartans jumped
ahead early and often against Frank Kaplan and the Knights. Scoring
in their first three times at bat, Kaplan surrendered 11 runs (10
earned) on 11 hits. It was the bottom of the third that put the
game away for STAC, as they scored 8 runs on 8 hits. The Knights
committed two errors in the inning, but those runners were etched
out on fielder's choices.
The Knights plated three runs courtesy of a Nick LoBello two
run double in the fifth and an RBI double in the seventh by John
Eyerman.
Game
Two
In game two, John Dondero started for QC. He only gave up four
runs (all earned) and dropped to 2-3 on the season. He allowed a
run to cross in the second and three to score in the bottom of the
third.
STAC starter Rob Naughton now has a 5-0 record and allowed
just five Knight hits in the game.
Queens College baseball returns to the diamond tomorrow
afternoon for the fourth game of the series. First pitch is slated
for 12 PM.
