Bridgeport, Conn. - The accolades continue to pour in for QC baseball player, Joe Salanitri (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) as he was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association East Region Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.  This comes on the heels of Salanitri being named ECC Pitcher of the Week the day before.

Salaintri, the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, in his only start last week, took a no-hitter into the eighth inning before giving up a two-out single, the only hit he allowed in the game. He threw all nine innings to earn a shutout win over LIU Post, 6-0. In addition to the single, he walked two and struck out 11. The win was the final game of the four-game series and helped the Knights earn a split with the Pioneers.

Salanitri and the Knights return to the diamond on Sunday, March 26, when they face the Caldwell Cougars in New Jersey.  The first pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
