The Queens College baseball team fell to LIU Post 12-1 in the team's East Coast Conference opener on Friday.  Warren Kelly (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Great Neck South) led the Knights with two hits.

John Eyerman (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) also slugged two hits, one of which was an RBI double.  The Knughts pushed their lone run across in the fifth.  Steven Varela (Glendale, N.Y./Christ the King) reached on a fielding error.  He came in two score when Eyerman ripped a two-bagger into the gap in right center.

QC used a trio of pitchers on the mound.  Frank Kaplan (Howard Beach, N.Y./Xaverian) got tagged with the loss.  Jared Mancini (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Port Jefferson) and Helbert Estevez (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Ford) relieved Kaplan in the game.

These same two teams will face each other in a doubleheader on Saturday at Queens College.  The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
