NEWARK, N.J. - Junior Anthony Mazzella (Wantagh, N.Y.) ripped a 3-run homer in the top of the first inning, while classmate Steven Kaplan (Howard Beach, N.Y.) hurled a complete game Sunday afternoon, as the pair lifted the Queens College baseball team to a season-opening, 7-2 victory over host Bloomfield in the first half of a doubleheader.

Bloomfield garnered a 13-2 triumph in game two, as the teams split the twinbill.

Head coach Tom Sowinski's Knights are back in action Monday afternoon (March 5), as QC will play host to Nyack College in a single, 9-inning game at Ray Metski Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
