FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Queens College baseball team opens a four-game weekend against two tough regional teams as they host the Knights Regional Invitational from Friday (Mar. 1) to Sunday (Mar. 3) afternoon.
The Knights ranked #4 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
(NCBWA) Week Two East Region poll will welcome #6 Franklin Pierce University Ravens and Receiving Votes Post University Eagles to Flushing.

Scouting the Knights (4-0 Overall Record) | Regionally Ranked #4 (NCBWA)
- Head coach Chris Reardon and the Knights opened the year going 4-0 in Northeast Challenge in Myrtle Beach as they defeated SNHU 4-1, earned a doubleheader sweep over Post 7-3 in game one, 9-3 in game two, and ended the weekend with a 10-7 victory over Chestnut Hill.
- The Knights are led by sophomore right fielder Jorsixt Jimenez (Flushing, N.Y.) with a batting average of .357 with five hits, one double, five RBI, two runs scored, two walks, and two stolen bases two multi-RBI games
- On Monday (Feb. 26) Jimenez earned his first East Coast Conference Honor Roll spot in the second weekly report sheet.
- Graduate student center fielder Phillip Krpata (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led the way with 11 stolen bases in four games to go with three hits, five RBI, five walks, and seven runs scored.
- Throughout four games junior third basemen Robert Jacobsen (Temecula, CA) is batting .417 with five hits, two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored.
- On the mound, four pitchers recorded their wins on the year in freshman righty Peter Nenadich III (Bayside, N.Y.), junior lefty Nate Rodriguez (Hamilton, N.J.) sophomore righty Christopher Naronis (Floral Park, N.Y.), and freshman righty Michael Vilardi (Massapequa, N.Y.), while three Knights recorded their first saves in senior righty Danny Gargano (Middle Island, N.Y.), junior righty Nick Kozerski (Hicksville, N.Y.) and junior righty Joshuel Rodriguez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) over the weekend.
- On Monday (Feb. 26) Nenadich III earned the first top ECC weekly honors of the year as he was named Rookie of the Week on the second weekly report sheet.

- The Knights are meeting the Eagles for the second time in a doubleheader this year with Queens earning two victories in Myrtle Beach. It is the first doubleheader in Flushing and the Eagles' first trip to Flushing since the 2002 season.
- The offense is led by DJ Caron who is batting .388 with 19 hits, four doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, and eight runs scored.
- On the mound, Matt Semon is 2-1 on the year having pitched 16.0 innings allowing 13 hits, six earned scored, 10 walks, and 16 strikeouts with a 3.38 ERA.

The Knights hit the road to Wilmington, DE. On Saturday (Mar. 9) afternoon for a doubleheader against the Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College. First pitch is set for noon.
