Women's Cross Country

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Competes at NJIT Highlanders XC Challenge

NEWARK, N.J. – Continuing their preparations for the East Coast Conference championship, the Queens College men's and women's cross country program traveled to Newark, N.J. to compete in the NJIT Highlander XC Challenge hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology at Branch Brook Park.
 
The women's side placed 15th out of 31 teams, while on the men's side, the Knights placed 13th out of 31 teams.

Women's Highlights

  • Rachel Mow paced the side with a career-best time of 19:57.8 as the junior placed 25th.
  • Fatima Morrobel made her season debut and rounded the course in 21:46.0.
  • Joy Leong recorded a time of 24:33.9, while Maria Flores finished the course in 25:40.6 to notch a new career-best time.
  • Andrea Rivera notched a time of 25:50.02 to record a new career-best time and Jennifer Salazar notched a season-best time of 26:19.7 to complete the 5K race.  

Men's Highlights

  • John Ray recorded a career-best time of 26:06.9 as the senior notched a 12th-place finish.
  • Daniel DeGregori rounded the course in 28:19.3, while Dean Tirado notched a time of 29:07.2 in the 8K race.
  • Peter Hoffmann recorded a time of 29:23.0 to set a new career high, while Musa Mazreku notched a time of 30:32.9 on the afternoon.
  • Jehu Ermilus tallied a career-best time of 31:49.0.

Next Meet:

The Knights will head to Long Island to compete in the St. Joseph's Long Island Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Kings Park, NY at Sunken Meadow State Park to conclude the non-championship segment of the schedule.
