FLUSHING, N.Y. – Continuing their six-game week, the Queens College baseball team returns to non-conference play as they welcome the Wildcats of Wilmington University to Flushing on Wednesday (Apr. 12) afternoon.
The Knights conclude the week in Philadelphia as they return to East Coast Conference play with a four-game series against the Lions of Lincoln University (PA.) over the weekend beginning on Friday (Apr. 14) afternoon to Sunday (Apr. 16) afternoon.
Scouting the Knights (Overall Record: 19-9, 4-4 ECC)
The Knights are coming off dropping their first ECC series of the season 1-3 to Molloy University.
In the recent NCBWA East Regional poll, Queens remain at the eighth spot having earned 26 points.
Following strong performances, freshman
Jorsixt Jimenez (Queens, N.Y.) was awarded his second straight ECC Rookie of the Week honors, while sophomore
Matt Filip (Maspeth, N.Y.
) a Honor Roll spot for his performance.
Over four games, Jimenez batted .500 with a slugging percentage of .813 as he recorded eight hits, two doubles, one home run, six RBI, and five runs scored. The rookie recorded three multi-hit games including two three-hit performances in back-to-back games. Jimenez tallied three hits with a double and a home run in the 12-3 victory over Caldwell before recording his second straight three-hit performance with a double and two RBI in the 8-5 victory over Molloy Thursday afternoon in ECC play.
Over four games, Filip batted .462 with six hits, a double, six RBI, five walks, and four runs scored. The sophomore reached base in all four games played to go with two straight two-hit performances. Against Caldwell, the Maspeth native recorded two hits to go with a season-high five RBI as Queens won 12-3 before adding his straight game of two hits to go with a RBI as the Knights earned an 8-5 victory over Molloy Thursday afternoon.
On Monday (Apr. 10) afternoon, the Knights dropped game four of the series to the final score of 5-3. The offense was led by three multi-hit performances from senior

Cisco, Fontana, and Jimenez drove in three runs on the day.
As a team, the Knights are batting .316 with 287 hits, 195 RBI, 211 runs scored, and have earned 146 walks in 909 At-Bats.
Leading the Way
- Fontana leads the way with a team-high batting average of .398 with 39 hits, 22 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple, six home runs, and 32 RBI.
- Fontana has tallied 13 multi-hit games (tied for first) with four three-hit games and with the latest one coming against Felician (Mar. 30).
- Cisco is batting .374 with 34 hits, 31 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 16 RBI.
- The sophomore has tallied 10 multi-hit games with three three-hit performances and five multi-RBI games on the season.
- Hoskins is batting .361 with 30 hits, five doubles, and five home runs, with 24 RBI and 12 runs scored.
- The senior has tallied seven multi-hit games on the season with one five-hit performance.
- The Freeport native became the first Knight to hit for the cycle in game two of the SCSU (Apr. 2) series (5-5 AB, 2B, 3B, HR, 3RBI)
- Jimenez is batting .359 with 33 hits, seven doubles, one triple, four home runs, 20 runs scored, and a team-high 34 RBI.
- Jimenez has 10 multi-hit games to go with a career-high four-hit performance against SCSU (Apr.2) as he recorded three home runs and eight RBI.
- On the mound, junior Jordan Sanabria (Woodside, N.Y.) leads the team with four wins, while senior Dean Fazah (Queens, N.Y.) and freshman Christopher Naronis (Floral Park, N.Y.) have combined for six wins.
- Junior Danny Gargano (Middle Island, N.Y.) leads the Knights and the conference with seven saves on the season.

Wilmington enters Flushing with an overall record of 19-11 and are on an 11-game win streak. The Wildcats are coming off a 13-3 victory over Goldey-Beacom College Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday's game in Flushing will be the first of two meeting this season with the latter to come in two weeks on the road. The Knights are looking to end a two-game losing streak to the Wildcats when they earned a 5-4 victory at home.

As a team, the Lions are batting .256 with 246 hits, 151 RBI, 179 runs scored, with 140 walks in 960 at-bats.
Jalen Greenidge leads the team with a batting average of .343 with 37 hits, four doubles, two triples, 17 runs scored, and 14 RBI. While Jaden Greenidge is batting .303 with 27 hits, five doubles, one triple, five home runs, 17 runs, and 20 RBI.
