Baseball at D’Youville University Game Day Preview

FLUSHING, N.Y. – East Coast Conference play opens up in Lewiston, N.Y. as the Queens College baseball team takes on the Saints of D'Youville University in a three-game series beginning on Friday (Mar. 25) to Saturday (Mar. 26). 
 
The series will be played at Niagara University, Bobo Field.

D'Youville Series History
Queens holds a 3-0 series lead over D'Youville as the Knights swept the Saints last season in Flushing. The Knights' offense outscored the Saints 24-3 including a three-hitter from junior Liam Pulsipher (East Moriches, N.Y.) shutting out the Saints in the season finale. 
 
Scouting the Knights
 
Queens (5-8 overall) are on a five-game skid with the offense stuck in a rut having scored a total of four runs in their last five games. They have left a total of 40 runners on base in the five losses. 
 
As a team, the Knights are batting .234, .695 OPS, .330 slugging % with 92 hits, 44 RBIs, seven home runs, and are 16-16 in stolen bases attempts. 
 
Freshman second basemen Marc Cisco (Long Island City, N.Y.) and junior centerfielder Jayson Rodopoulos (Scarsdale, N.Y.) lead the offense with the duo batting a team-high .409 on the season. 
 
Rodopoulos has tallied six multi-hit games including two games with three hits.. While Cisco has tallied two three-hit performances in 13 games played. Cisco has reached bases in all 13 games. 
 
Both Rodopoulos and Cisco earned top honors on Feb. 28 from the East Coast Conference office with Rodopoulos being named Player of the week and Cisco being named Rookie of the week. 
 
On Wednesday (Mar. 2) Rodopoulos was named NCBWA East Region Player of the week. 
 
Scouting the Saints
 
D'Youville (6-6 overall) enter the Queens series on a three-game skid having dropped a three-game series to Gannon University.  
 
In 12 games, the Saints are batting .326, .447 OBP, .472 slugging, and have tallied 88 runs, with four home runs. 
 
Alex Dzimian leads the offense boasting a team-high .523 batting average with 23 hits, 9 RBIs with three doubles. While Alec Boucher holds a batting average of .413 with 19 hits with 11 RBIs including three triples.

Next Series
 
The Knights will stay on the road as they travel to Garden City, N.Y. with a non-conference matchup against the Panthers of Adelphi University on Tuesday (Mar. 29) afternoon. The first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
