FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College lacrosse team fell to Dowling 14-4 Wednesday afternoon in East Coast Conference action.

Sophomore Mary Pat Gibbe led the Knights with two goals and two assists.  In net, senior Krista Ancona made 11 stops.

The Golden Lions jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the contest, before Gibble's first of the game snapped the scoring run by Dowling.  A goal by freshman Margaret Iavarone off a helper by Gibble pushed QC within four, 6-2, with 7:45 left in the opening period.  The visitors responded with a 4-0 surge to close the half, and led 10-2 at intermission.

In the second half, the two team traded goals, as a tally by Gibble with 14:11 left made the score 12-4 Dowling.  The Golden Lions then netted the final two goals of the game.

Karie Znanieckki led the Golden Lions with four goals and an assist.  Overall, Dowling held a 33-10 advantage on shot and forced QC into 30 turnovers.
