WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Queens College lacrosse team completed its 2016 campaign with a 15-5 victory over District of Columbia Friday afternoon at Cooper Field.

Senior Carly Chierico tallied six points on four goals and two assists in the contest, while classmate Carly Canavan scored three times.  Freshman Lauren Gentile registered four goals and an assist, while Mary Pat Gibble scored twice.  Senior Krista Ancona made four saves in net. 

After an early goal gave UDC a 1-0 lead, the Knights countered with three straight tallies, taking a two goal lead on a goal by Gibble with 11:26 left in the frame.  QC outscored the Firebirds 3-2 over the duration of the first period to take a 6-3 lead into half.

A goal by Amber Walls cut the QC lead to three, 8-5, with 18:15 left in the second period.  From there, the Knights closed the game on a 7-0 run.  The trio of Canavan, Chierico and Gentile were responsible for the seven goals.

QC completes its season with an even 8-8 mark, its most wins since the 2013 campaign.
