Box Score 2 FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College softball team won both games of an East Coast Conference double header with St. Thomas Aquinas Saturday afternoon. The Knights won each game by a score of 4-0.
Junior Stevianne Ognibene continued her recent hot play, collecting five hits and scoring three runs over the two games. Ognibene hit for the cycle on the day, collecting a single, home run and triple in game one before grabbing a double and another triple in the finale.
Sophomore Victoria Carlo collected three runs batted in, while junior Kylie Spillet had a home run and three runs batted in. Sophomore ToniMarie Valeriano had three hits over the two games.
Just as impressive as the offensive outburst was the work of the QC starters in the circle. Valeriano allowed five hits in a complete game shutout in game one. Junior Morgan Starley also registered a complete game shutout, allowing three hits while striking out two in game two.
QC concludes its regular season slate Sunday afternoon against NYIT.
