COLONIA, N.J. – In the East Coast Conference's tenth weekly report of the season, Queens College Softball rookie right-hander
Nellie Donahue (Levittown, N.Y.), and juniors
Kadie Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y.), and
Olivia Wanser (Westbury, N.Y.) were named to the Honor Roll sheet.
Honor Roll
Donahue has now appeared on the weekly report six times this season.
In a 1-1 week for the Knights, Donahue earned her team-leading sixth win of the season in an 8-4 complete-game victory over Mercy on Friday afternoon. After surrendering an unearned run in the first inning, Donahue settled in and held the Mavericks scoreless over the next five innings, working through consistent traffic while striking out eight. Backed by an early 8-1 lead from the offense, she closed out the game to secure the win.
Honor Roll
Cain earns her fourth appearance on the weekly report this year and her thrd consecutive Honor Roll selection.
In a four-game ECC week, Cain posted a batting average of .400, on-base percentage of .471, and slugging percentage of .467. She totaled six hits, including one double, along with one walk, two RBIs, and a team-high five runs scored. Cain extended her four-game hitting streak and recorded two multi-hit games, bringing her season total to a team-high 15 multi-hit performances.
Honor Roll
Wanser earns her sixth appearance on the weekly report sheet and her fourth Honor Roll selection.
In a four-game ECC week, Wanser led the offense with a scorching batting average of .778, on-base percentage of .875, and slugging percentage of 1.222. She recorded a team-high seven hits, including one double and one home run, while drawing six walks, scoring two runs, and driving in four. Wanser extended her hitting streak to four games, highlighted by three multi-hit performances and one multi-RBI game.
Next Pitch
Queens remains on the road Tuesday, April 28, traveling to Rockville Centre, N.Y. for an East Coast Conference doubleheader against Molloy University. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
