Box Score 2 LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Queens College softball team split a non-conference double header with Georgian Court Sunday afternoon. The Knights prevailed 7-1 in game one, before falling in game two 7-0.
Sophomore Alyssa Neal (Paramus, N.J.) was the catalyst in game one, posting three hits and two RBI in the game. The Knights posted two run frames in the second, fourth and fifth innings before adding their final run in the seventh.
Sophomore ToniMarie Valeriano (Bellmore, N.Y.) allowed one run and four hits in seven innings. At the plate, she collected two hits and an RBI. Kelly Hardiman took the loss for Georgian Court, allowing two runs, both unearned, in 1.2 innings.
In game two, the Knights were stifled by GCU starter Amanda Finn, who allowed six hits and two walks over seven innings. At the plate, Finn also collected three hits, including a home run in the game.
Freshmen Deanna Burbridge (Mahwah, N.J.) and Lauren Pascual (Woodland Hills, Calif.) posted two knocks apiece in the contest. Pascual took the loss in the circle, surrendering four runs in 3.2 innings of work with five strikeouts. Junior Morgan Starley (Windsor, N.Y.) allowed three runs, one earned, in 2.1 frames of relief.
The Knights are back in action Saturday afternoon, hosting Molloy in an ECC double header (12:00 pm).
