NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Queens College women's swimming and diving team picked up a pair of decisive victories over the College of New Rochelle and York in tri-meet action Tuesday evening. The Knights outscored CNR 87-43 and YC 106-59.
QC picked up seven event victories, including a pair of wins by junior Katie Waszkiewicz. Waszkiewicz picked up wins in both the 100 IM (1:09.84) and 100 butterfly (1:04.14).
In other action, Elizabeth Hodges picked up first in the 100 free (59.86). Marina Gerard took the top spot in the 1000 free (14:36.10) and Chelsy Espinosa was first in the 200 free (2:19.87). Additionally, Sabrina Poon took first in the 100 back with a time of 1:12.25.
The Knights the tone early as the 200 medley relay teams went 1-2 in the event. The team of Iris Leung, Hodges, Waszkiewicz and Nicole Weinsheimer placed first with a time of 2:04.82. The group of Poon, Isabella Chittumuri, Jessica Morales and Amanda Giordano took second with a time of 2:17.60.
The Knights are back in action Saturday at the USMMA Invitational.
