FLUSHING, N.Y. – Queens College Athletic Director
Rob Twible announced the hiring of
Michael Loeffler as the next head coach of the Knights' women's swimming and diving program.
"We are excited to welcome Michael to Queens," Twible said. "Michael brings an extensive amount of experience on the coaching circuit, and we cannot wait to see the swim program take the next level."
No stranger to the collegiate scene, Loeffler started his coaching career in 2009 with the Mount Saint Vincent College Dolphins. Under his tenure, the Dolphins set 11 new program records competing in the Skyline Conference.
"I am looking forward to being a part of the Queens College community." Stated Loeffler. "With the amazing facilities and staff. There is a great opportunity here to build a program.
Loeffler brings in experience not only at the collegiate level but at the club and high school level. As the head coach of the Fordham Prep High School freshman team, he led the Rams to the 2019 CHSAA City Championship. At the club level, his USA Club team competed in the New York Metro League from 2013-2018.
Currently, he serves as the Aquatics Coordinator at CUNY Hostos Community College, while maintaining his duties as a head coach of the freshman swim team and an assistant varsity coach at Fordham Prep.
Loeffler is a certified Level 2 Swim Coach through ASCA and holds certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and as a Water Safety Instructor.
