Box Score 2 Central Islip, N.Y. - Queens College senior, Monique Roberge, was named East Coast Conference Player of the Week for Softball, it was announced on Monday by the league office. She also took home the award on the week of March 30.
The New Hyde Park, New York, native was a standout at the plate and in the circle last week for the Knights. She went 13-for-30 on the week (.433 average) and blasted three home runs for a .733 slugging percentage. She also drove in 15 runs. In the circle, she went 4-0 with a pair of complete games, including a five-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts against Bridgeport. In all, she struck out 33 and posted a .286 ERA in 22 innings on the week.
The Queens College softball team faces Mercy College on Tuesday, April 14 in Dobbs Ferry, New York. The first pitch is slated for 2:30.
