Queens College Softball Takes One Game Contest Versus Merrimack 7-6

Flushing, N.Y. (April 3, 2013) – The Queens College softball team defeated the Merrimack College Warriors in the lone game played by the score of 7-6. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was called due to darkness before the game became official.

In the 7-6 victory, Nicole Turato earned her third win in the pitcher's circle this season for the Knights.  She gave up just three runs on eight hits in five innings of work. She also struck out two on the afternoon.  QC's offense provide Turato with run support throughout the game, as Kaitlyn Crowley launched two home runs out of the softball field and led the team with four RBI's.

Isabelle Yaroch came in to close out the game in the top of the seventh, with the Knights up 7-6. Yaroch would record her first save of the season by shutting down the Warriors in order.

The QC softball team will travel to Dobbs Ferry, NY to take on ECC opponent Mercy College with first pitch of game one scheduled for 3 PM.
