Knights Women's Lacrosse Start Season with 19-3 Win over the University of Findlay

Flushing, N.Y. (March 2, 2013) – The Knights women's lacrosse team started their 2013 campaign on a strong note, defeating the University of Findlay Oilers by the score of 19-3 to move to 1-0.

In her first game as a Knight, transfer junior Taylor Martello (24) led the team with six goals and added two assists in the contest. The Knights 2nd-leading scorer was senior Heather Rosen (18) who netted four goals and recorded a game-high six assists.

The Knights were strong on the defensive side of the ball as well, causing Findlay to turn it over 12 times. They held Findlay to nine shots on goal. In net, Australian native Kahli Evans continued her success as Knights goaltender, only allowing three goals and turning it aside six times.

With a player down 3:30 into the second half, Oiler freshman Taylor Trice got UF on the scoreboard and recorded the program's first-ever goal.

The Knights will next visit Holy Family University  in Philadelphia at 3 PM on Thursday March 7th.
