FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Queens College softball team got two-hit performances from junior Carla Pennolino (Middle Village, N.Y.) and sophomore Kaitlyn Crowley (Patchogue, N.Y.) Sunday afternoon, as the Knights fell in both ends of an East Coast Conference doubleheader to C.W. Post.
Game 1: C.W. Post 8, Queens 0 (6 inn.)
The Knights saw six players rap one hit apiece off C.W. Post hurler Liz Weber, including Crowley and freshman Samantha Mattsson (Staten Island, N.Y.), who had one double apiece.
Game 2: C.W. Post 5, Queens 0
Pennolino, Crowley and junior Caroline Carbone (E. Williston, N.Y.) had one hit each for the Knights, who were unable to get untracked offensively against the Pioneers.
Interim head coach John Pisano's Knights are back in ECC action Tuesday afternoon, when they play host to the University of Bridgeport in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
