BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - Freshman outfielder Monique Roberge (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) smacked her third home run of the season Tuesday afternoon, as the Queens College softball team opened East Coast Conference play at C.W. Post.

The host Pioneers rallied to take a 3-1 victory in the opener, before capturing a 12-1 decision in the five-inning nightcap.

Game 1: C.W. Post 3, Queens 1

Roberge sent her third long ball of the season over the left-center field wall in the top of the second inning, giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.

Sophomore Melissa Natale (Yaphank, N.Y.) also singled in the contest for Queens.

Game 2: C.W. Post 12, Queens 1 (5 inn.)

Junior Carla Pennolino's (Middle Village, N.Y.) RBI groundout in the fourth stanza plated Natale with the Knights' lone run of the contest.

Interim head coach John Pisano's Knights are back in ECC action Thursday afternoon, as they travel to Rockville Centre, N.Y., for a 3 p.m. twinbill at Molloy College.
