OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Queens College softball team got back on the winning track Tuesday afternoon, as senior pitcher Bryttne Santana allowed just one hit in the Knights' 8-0, five-inning East Coast Conference victory over host New York Institute of Technology.

Catherine Pastor (2-for-3, double) and Anniela Vaccaro (2-for-4) each registered two hits for Queens (21-22, 10-13 ECC), while Melissa Natale went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Kaitlyn Crowley (1-for-1, two walks) reached base safely in all three of her plate appearances, driving in three runs in the process.

The Knights' two-run first and third innings sandwiched a single run in the second frame. Queens tacked on three more in the fourth inning to account for the final score.

Santana faced just one batter over the minimum in her 4.1 innings pitch to knot her record at 11-11 on the season, while Nicole Turato pitched the final two-thirds of an inning in relief.

Head coach Brian DeMasters's Knights are back in ECC action on the road Wednesday, when they travel to Sparkill, N.Y., for a 3:30 p.m. twinbill at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
