PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Queens College women's swimming and diving program took to the road for the first time on the 2011-12 campaign Friday night, and saw its 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay teams take second-place finishes in a dual meet at Pace University.
In the 400 free relay, senior Angela Parra (Sunnyside, N.Y.), junior Briana Meehan (Levittown, N.Y.), junior Sissi Ribeiro (Sao Lourenco, Brazil) and freshman Emina Kadrich (Astoria, N.Y.) completed their circuit in a time of 4:02.59.
Parra later touched the wall in a time of 5:53.21 in the 500-yard freestyle.
In the one-meter diving competition, freshman Sonya Robinson (Arverne, N.Y.) placed third with her mark of 124.85 points.
Rounding out the meet, the 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Nicole Orsino (Staten Island, N.Y.), sophomore Kelsey Purcell (New York, N.Y.), senior Kristin Gromling (Baldwin, N.Y.) and freshman Kaitlyn Schlesinger (Massapequa, N.Y.) clocked in with a time of 2:18.92.
Head coach Alicia Lampasso-Dillon's Knights are back in action Nov. 19, when they travel to Kings Point, N.Y., for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Invitational.
