NEW YORK – The Queens College women's swimming and diving team won eight individual events Monday night, as the Knights were tough competitors at Hunter College.
The host Hawks emerged victorious in the team count, 51-44.
Junior Sissi Palma Ribeiro (Sao Lourenco, Brazil) was the big winner on the night for QC, as she took home gold-medal accolades in three events: the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.68), 100-yard butterfly (1:04.75) and 500-yard freestyle (5:54.11).
Senior Angela Parra (Sunnyside, N.Y.) touched the wall first in both the 1000 Free (11:59.64) and 100 Free (58.90), while freshman Emina Kadrich (Astoria, N.Y.) placed first in the 50 Free (27.57) and 100 Back (1:08.52).
Junior Briana Meehan (Levittown, N.Y.) also received first-place kudos, in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16.12).
Head coach Alicia Lampasso-Dillon's Knights are back in dual-meet action Nov. 30, when they play host to Maritime (N.Y.) College in a 5 p.m. start.
