FLUSHING, N.Y. – Wrapping up their four-game East Coast Conference series Sunday afternoon, the Queens College baseball team hosted Molloy at Hennekens Stadium.
Sophomore right-hander
Severino Napolitano Jr. (Brooklyn, N.Y.) made his second start of the season and delivered four strong innings, allowing just two hits and one unearned run while striking out three.
Molloy capitalized on a defensive miscue to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning.
The Knights answered immediately in the home half, as sophomore left fielder
Henry Tolentino (Bronx, N.Y.) reached on an error, advanced on a sacrifice bunt and a flyout, and came around to score on a wild pitch to even the game at 1-1.
The Lions regained control in the sixth inning, pushing across two runs to move ahead 3-1.
Queens threatened in the bottom of the eighth, when sophomore second baseman
Tommy Pasqua (Williston Park, N.Y.) broke up the no-hit bid with a one-out single up the middle. walk to senior right fielder
Vincent Mallon (Massapequa, N.Y.) and a hit-by-pitch to rookie center fielder
John Harkins (Babylon, N.Y.) loaded the bases, but Molloy escaped the jam with a timely double play to preserve the lead.
In the bottom of the ninth, Queens brought the tying run to the plate, but the Lions held off the late rally to secure the 3-1 victory.

The Knights remain at home as they welcome D'Youville University Saints for a four-game series, with the doubleheader set to begin at noon.
