WINGATE, N.C. – For the ninth time since the 2017 season a Queens College baseball Knight has earned National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Region honors.
On Friday, May 16 senior lefty
Nate Rodriguez (Hamilton, N.J.) was named to the NCBWA All-East Region Second Team honors as a Relief Pitcher.
For the sixth straight season, a Knight has earned a place on the All-East Region teams, and the first pitcher since the 2017 season when senior righty Joseph Broderick earned Honorable Mention as a starting pitcher.
The Hamilton native also earned East Coast Conference First Team honors as a Relief Pitcher.
In his final year, Rodriguez made 11 appearances on the mound earning two starts as he recorded a 2-1 record and three saves as he pitched 33.1 innings allowing 27 hits, 23 earned runs, and struck out 38 batters.
In ECC play the lefty made six appearances recording a 2-0 record with three saves as he pitched 15.0 innings allowing 11 hits, six earned runs, and struck out 16 batters
During the regular season, the Hamilton native earned Pitcher of the Week honors on Mar. 31 and one Honor Roll spot on Apr. 21 on the Weekly Report Sheet.
