Queens Baseball Massapequa Natives Mallon, Vilardi Earn ECC Honor Roll Recognition

COLONIA, N.J. – In the seventh East Coast Conference weekly report of the season, the Queens College baseball team saw two student-athletes earn conference recognition Monday afternoon. Senior right fielder Vincent Mallon (Massapequa, N.Y.) and junior right-hander Michael Vilardi (Massapequa, N.Y.) were both named to the ECC Honor Roll.
 
The recognition marks the second time this season that both Knights have earned a spot on the weekly Honor Roll.

Honor Roll

Mallon led the Knights offense, batting .313 with a .476 on-base percentage and an .813 slugging percentage. He recorded five hits, including a triple and two home runs, while drawing four walks, driving in four RBI, and scoring a team-high seven runs. The senior totaled 13 bases, highlighted by three extra-base hits.

Honor Roll

Vilardi matched a season-best performance on the mound against Molloy on Saturday. Earning a no-decision, Vilardi delivered seven strong innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs while issuing one walk and tying a season-high with five strikeouts.

Next Pitch

The Knights remain at home as they welcome D'Youville University Saints for a four-game series, with the doubleheader set to begin at noon.
