COLONIA, N.J. – On Monday, April 14, the East Coast Conference announced the eighth baseball report sheet of the year, and two Queens College student-athletes were honored for games played between Apr. 7 – Apr.13.
 
Senior righty Caleb Cassie (Vancouver, British Columbia) was named CO-Pitcher of the Week, and sophomore right fielder Michael Vilardi (Massapequa, N.Y.) was named to the Honor Roll Sheet.

CO-Pitcher of the Week - Caleb Cassie (Vancouver, British Columbia)

For the third this year, Cassie has earned a spot on the weekly award sheet earning his top award of the year as he was named Co-Pitcher of the week.

In the 2-1 pitcher's duel victory over ECC-leading Molloy Friday afternoon Cassie pitched six shutout innings in the start as he allowed two hits, one walk, and struck out three batters. In 82 pitches of work, and facing 20 batters, Cassie held the hot bats of the Lions to a .105 batting average as he faced the minimum number of batters in four innings of work and would not allow a runner into scoring position in his outing.

Honor Roll - Michael Vilardi (Massapequa, N.Y.)

For the third time this year, Vilardi has found a spot on the Honor Roll sheet.
 
In a 2-2 week for the Knights Vilardi recorded a batting average of .400, SLG % of .533, and OB % of .400 as he recorded six hits, two doubles, one RBI, three runs scored, and one stolen base. The sophomore recorded two multi-hit games on the week recording a three-hit game against Caldwell and a two-hit game against ECC-leading Molloy extending his total to a team-high 11 on the year. Vilardi recorded his third three-hit of the year in the victory over Caldwell as he went 3-5 AB with a double, RBI, and a run scored. On Sunday, the Massapequa native recorded his seventh two-hit performance of the year with a 2-5 AB notching a double and two runs scored against Molloy.

The Knights continue their ECC homestand on Thursday, Apr. 17 as they welcome D'Youville University Saints to town for a four-game series. The first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
