COLONIA, N.J. – On Tuesday, Apr. 1 the East Coast Conference office announced the eighth men's tennis weekly report sheet and three Queens College men's tennis student-athletes were awarded for their performances for matches played from Mar. 24 – Mar. 30.
The trio of junior
Alexis Martin-Gibiard (Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France), sophomore
Tim Andersson (Linkoping, Sweden), and junior
Lucas Foix Sotos (Javea, Spain) were named to the Honor Roll sheet.
Honor Roll - Alexis Martin-Gibiard (Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France)
Martin-Gibiard went 2-0 at #4 singles play on the week. The junior began the week earning a three-set victory over STAC Erik Victor Tauson as he rallied from a first-set defeat of 2-6 before earning a 6-0,6 -3 victory as Queens earned a 5-2 victory over the Spartans. Against Adelphi Saturday afternoon Martin-Gibiard earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Andrea Albiero to complete his weekend.
Honor Roll - Tim Andersson (Linkoping, Sweden)
In the ECC victory over STAC Andersson went 2-0 helping Queens clinch the doubles point at #2 court before earning a #3 singles victory. Andersson with partner
Samuel Linck would earn a 6-4 victory over Nagamitsu Kuroda and Don Lominoque as Queens clinched the doubles point. Andersson completed his 2-0 ECC afternoon earning a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lominoque at #3 singles.
In the ECC victory over STAC Foix Sotos went 2-0 earning a doubles victory at #3 and a #1 singles victory. Foix Sotos and partner
Loup Alleno earned a 6-3 victory over Ondrej Sramek at #3 double before Foix Sotos clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Seth Newman at #1 singles.
