CLERMONT, FLA. – On Day Three of THE Spring Games, the Queens College softball team matched up against NE10 and regional-foe American International College Yellow Jackets and MEC member Point Park University Pioneers at Legends Field.
In a game that saw 27 hits and 21 runs scored the Knights would hold firm to earn their second victory of the year with an 11-10 victory over the Yellow Jackets before errors in the nightcap led to a Tuesday split with a 6-1 loss against the Pioneers.

The Knights opened the game on a strong note as senior center fielder
Amanda Baez (Selden, N.Y.) recorded her second home run of the year with a three-run blast to put Queens up 3-0 after the top of the first inning.
The Yellow Jackets cut the advantage down to 3-2 as the first inning of play saw five runs scored.
Queens would continue to score as the duo of sophomore utility
Caylea Campbell (Murrieta, CA.) and senior third baseman
Emma Zumpol (Patchogue, N.Y.) combined for four RBI as the Knights extended their advantage to 7-2 after the top of the second inning.
Campbell would work out of a lead-off walk in the bottom of the second inning before the Yellow Jackets came back to tie the game 7-7 with a five-run inning in the bottom of the third.
With the game tied 7-7, the Knights would quickly respond as sophomore shortstop
Kadie Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y.) RBI double put Queens back in front in the top of the seventh, 8-7.
But the run-fest would continue as AIC responded with two more runs in the home frame to take a 9-8 lead after four complete innings of play.
After a scoreless fifth inning of play for both sides, the Knights used two hits including a two-RBI double from senior right fielder
Caroline Pescatore (North Babylon, N.Y.) as Queens reclaimed a 10-9 advantage for good.
As Campbell kept the Yellow Jackets quiet in the bottom of the sixth, a RBI double from Zumpol would double the Knights' advantage as they took an 11-9 lead into the bottom of the seventh and three outs away from earning their second victory of the year.
As the sophomore righty got the first two outs in the seventh, the Yellow Jackets attempted to put together a rally as they were able to cut Queens' advantage down to one, 11-10.
But Campbell would win the battle to get the final out of the inning and earn her second win of the year.
