This Week in Knights Athletics: May 1 – May 8 (Week 36)

FLUSHING, N.Y. – The final week of the regular season has arrived as both baseball and softball wrap their regular season. 
 
Baseball will look to conclude two series, while softball wraps up their regular season on the road before preparing for the East Coast Conference championship.
 
The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will use the week to prepare for the ECC Outdoor championship to be held in Rochester.  
 
Last Week's Recap:
 
With injuries running through the lineup, baseball went 1-3 on the week but would earn a crucial ECC split against D'Youville on Friday afternoon as senior Liam Pulsipher (East Morchies, N.Y.) fired a complete game effort in the win.
 
Softball went 1-3 on the week falling three tough against before earning an ECC DH split against Molloy on senior day. Junior Dyana Budakowski (Washingtonville, N.Y.) pitched four shutout innings of relief in the game-two victory over Molloy.
 
While the men's and women's outdoor track & field relay teams competed in the Penn Relays on Friday afternoon in their final preparations for the ECC Championships. 
 
Men's tennis earned the #1 seed in the NCAA Men's Tournament East Regional bracket for the first time since the 2017 season. But it would be a heartbreaking loss for the Knights as they fell 4-3 in the Round of 32 to Le Moyne College.
