FLUSHING, N.Y. – Following a six-game Florida swing, the Queens College softball team opens East Regional action as they travel to defending East Regional champions in Adelphi University Panthers for a Thursday (Mar. 16) afternoon doubleheader.
For their road doubleheader against the Panthers, the Knights open action in Flushing on Saturday (Mar. 18) afternoon as they welcome the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University to town.
Scouting the Knights (Overall Record: 1-7)
Last week Queens went 1-5 in their Sunshine State trip with the victory coming against Alderson Broaddus University. It was the Knights' first victory over their non-regional opponent in program history.

Amanda Baez (Selden, N.Y.) earned an East Coast Conference Honor Roll spot for her performance.

Baez led the way in six games in the Sunshine State with a team-high batting average of .412 with seven hits, and two multi-hit games including tying a career-best 3-for-4 AB with two runs against Embry-Riddle to go with three stolen bases.
As a team, the Knights are batting .165 with 29 hits, 9 RBI, 9 runs scored, and 8 walks in 176 At-Bats.
Leading the Way
- Baez leads the way with a team-high .412 batting average with seven hits, 3 runs scored, and one RBI.
- The sophomore has tallied two multi-hit games with a season-best three hits against Embry-Riddle (Mar. 11).
- Senior Cyarra Alvarado (Coral Springs, FL) has tallied five hits, two doubles, two runs scored, and one RBI and holds a batting average of .294.
- While junior Jenny Murphy (East Islip, N.Y.) leads the Knights with a team-high two RBIs with four hits, and one run scored with a batting average of .267.
- In the circle graduate student Allyson Dilday (Castle Rock, CO.) has earned the lone for the Knights.

Gianna LaSpina leads the Penmen with a team-high batting average of .316 with six hits, one run scored, one double, and three RBI, while Alyssa DiMauro has tallied a team-high five RBI with seven hits, three runs scored, and one triple and holds a batting average of .269.
Three different Penmen have combined for a win apiece on the season.
