M/W Cross Country Competes in East Coast Conference Championship Saturday Morning

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Saturday (Oct. 21) morning, the Queens College men's and women's Cross Country program competed in the East Coast Conference Championship held in Rochester N.Y. by Roberts Wesleyan University at Matt St. James Cross Country Trails.
 
Competing first, the men's side placed sixth in the 8K race, while the women's side placed seventh in the 5K race.
 
Men's 8K Highlights
  1. In his rookie season finale, freshman Daniel DeGregori (East Meadow, N.Y.) led the Knights once again as he did all year placing first among his teammates with a 22nd-place finish for a time of 27:55.1, just missing his career-high mark.
  2. Junior Abdi Mohamed (Fargo, ND) was the next Knight to complete the course with a 30th place finish in 28:44.6 as he recorded a new career-high mark.  
  3. While the junior duo of Peter Hoffmann (Astoria, N.Y.) and Kyle Daniels (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) completed the course together with a .2 split difference as Daniel recorded a time of 31:06.7 and Hoffmann with a time of 31:08.3 as they placed 53rd and 54th on the day.
  4.  Senior Paulo Criollo (Ambato, Ecuador) rounded the course in 31:42.2 for a 56th-place finish, while senior Anthony Lopez (Ridgefield, N.J.) earned a 57th-place finish with a time of 32:00.3 in the race.

Women's 5K Highlights
  1. Senior Natalia Cuttler (Islip, N.Y.) paced the Knights finishing first among her teammates for a time of 21:23.8 for a 25th-place finish.
  2. Sophomore Rachel Mow (Esopus, N.Y.) placed 28th with a time of 21:49.5 as she was the next Knight to complete the course.
  3. Sophomore Madelyn McMath (Carmel, N.Y.) recorded a career-best time of 23:35.5 to place 44th in the race.
  4. Sophomore Joy Leong (Brooklyn, N.Y.) placed 48th with a time of 23:41.9 to record a new career-best.
  5. Sophomore Ashley Rodriguez Perez (Elmhurst, N.Y.) earned a 53rd finish as she recorded a new career-best time of 24:48.7 in the event.
  6. Junior Andrea Rivera (Queens, N.Y.) would record a career-best time of 25:50.6 in the event to earn a 57th-place finish.
  7. Junior Nicole Colombi (Wantagh, N.Y.) would be the next Knight as she placed 58th with a time of 26:05.3.
