Men’s Cross Country Senior John Ray Earns NCAA DII All-Region Honors Monday Afternoon

NEW ORLEANS – On Monday, November 11, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country All-Region honors and Queens College men's cross country senior John Ray (Bellerose, N.Y.) was awarded All-Regions honors.

One of three Knights to compete in the NCAA DII 10K East Regional Championship, Ray led the Knights with a career-best time of 32:17.4 as he placed 21st in the Championship meet.

Ray concludes his Knights cross country career adding a second accolade this season. On October 26 Ray earned East Coast Conference All-First Team honors as the Bellerose native placed sixth in the Championship meet with a time of 26:19.4.

His All-ECC First Team honors was the first honor by a Knight since the 2013 season, while his All-Region honors is the first in program history.

USTFCCCA: Athletes earned the distinction of All-Region by virtue of a top-25 finish at one of the eight regional sites this past weekend. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

With the Indoor Track and Field 2024-2025 season set to begin in December, Ray will now set his sights on adding more accolades once the season gets underway.

The Knights Indoor Track & Field schedule will be released later this week.
