FLUSHING, N.Y. – The homestand continues for the Queens College softball team as they welcome the Cougars of Caldwell University on Friday (Apr. 8) afternoon before concluding the weekend against Mercy College Mavericks in East Coast Conference action Saturday (Apr. 9) afternoon.

Queens
(1-15 overall, 1-5 ECC) is coming off a tough doubleheader loss to Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon and will be looking to bounce back against Caldwell and Mercy.
As a team, the Knights are batting .220, with .285 OPS, and .283 slugging % with 84 hits and 31 runs scored.
Freshman
Amanda Baez (Selden, N.Y.) leads the offense batting a team-high .320 batting average with 11 hits, a triple, and three RBIs. While junior
Cyarra Alvarado (Coral Springs, Fla.) is batting .298 with 14 hits, four doubles, two home runs, and six RBIs.
Senior RHP
Emma Wimmer (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll Sheet for her performances last week. Wimmer made three appearances as she pitched 13.2 IP allowing nine hits, three earned runs, and struck out 13 batters. The senior limited Pace and D'Youville offenses to three runs including notching a career-high eight strikeouts in game one against D'Youville. Wimmer would pitch 0.2 innings in relief to earn her first save of the season as the Knights completed a game two comeback rally to win 6-5. She would strike out a total of 10 Saints batters including two in game two to pick up the save Saturday afternoon.
Caldwell University Series History
Since 2003, the Knights are 2-21 against the Cougars with the last win coming on March 14, 2015.
The last home win came on March 28, 2004, as the Knights earned a doubleheader split against the Cougars winning game one to the score of 3-2.

(15-6 overall) comes to Queens having earned a CACC split against Post University.
As a team, the Cougars are batting .372 with .952 OBP, .533 slugging %, and have tallied 141 runs on 204 hits.
The offense is led by Jessica Klein batting a team-high batting average of .512 with 22 hits, 16 runs scored, and five RBIs. Courtney Grundhauser leads the team with 22 RBIs boasting a batting average of .474, 27 hits, 2 runs, and five home runs.
Mercy College Series History
The Knights are 40-20 in 60 overall meetings since the 2001 season, but the Mavericks are 7-3 in the last 10 games.
At home, Queens holds a 23-9 advantage as they ended a three-game home losing streak last spring to take the last game of the series to the score of 3-1.

Mercy
(4-25 overall, 2-4 ECC) enters Flushing having earned an ECC split against Molloy College.
As a team, the Mavericks are batting .233 with .591 OBP and .290 slugging % with 176 hits and 82 runs scored.
Samantha Franck leads the teams in RBIs with 12 as she holds a batting average of .286 with 20 hits, six doubles, and two home runs. While Ariana Ricci sports a .226 batting average with 14 hits and is second on the team with 11 RBIs.
