Softball Travels to Pace University in Non-Conference Action Thursday Afternoon

FLUSHING, N.Y.  – The Queens College softball team continues non-conference action against the Setters of Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y. Thursday afternoon.

Pace University Series History
The Knights are 6-12 against the Setters since the 2006 season. On the road, Queens has earned one win coming on May 3, 2006, as the Knights defeated the Setters 6-4. 
 
Scouting the Knights 
Queens (0-10 overall) is still in search of their first win of the season and will look to open their wins column against Pace Thursday afternoon.  
 
As a team, the Knights are batting .231, .563 OPS, .281 slugging % with 56 hits and 16 runs scored. 
 
The offense is led by junior Cyarra Alvardo (Coral Springs, Fla.) batting a team-high .375 with 12 hits, four doubles, and four RBIs. Last week Alvarado finished the week batting .538, .538 OBP, and a whopping .768 slugging % with seven hits including three doubles. The junior tallied 7 hits including three doubles and three RBIs. In the ECC opening series, Alvarado went 5-7 with three doubles as she kept the Knights in pace with Molloy. She would end the week extending her hit streak to six games at Franklin Pierce as she found a spot on the East Coast Conference honor roll.
 
While Senior Ann Grimshaw (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) is batting .360 with nine hits, two doubles, and three RBIs on the season. On Monday (Mar. 21) Grimshaw was named to the ECC honor roll sheet. 
 
Scouting the Setters
Pace (7-7 overall) enters Thursday's non-conference doubleheader on a high as they swept Mercy College Wednesday evening.
 
As a team, the Setters are batting .256 with .681 OPS, .348 slugging %, and have tallied 46 runs on 89 hits. 
 
The offense is led by Zoie Iverson batting .400 with 14 hits with six RBIs. While Tejeda Alexandra is batting .293 with 12 hits and eight RBIs on the season. 
 
Next Series
The Knights will welcome the Saints of D'Youville University to Flushing on Saturday (Apr. 2) afternoon in ECC play. First pitch is set for noon.
