Chea Paces WSWIM in Season Opener

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- On Thursday (Oct. 21) evening the Queens College women's swimming team returned to the pool for the first time this season as they open the season against College of Staten Island and Mount Saint Mary College Tri-Meet.
 
The Knights split the season opener defeating Mount Saint Mary to the score of 87-74, while Staten Island took the first meeting of the season with a 99-87 victory. 
 
Sophomore Rory Chea (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) had to wait an additional year to get her Queens College women's swimming year going, but in her first opportunity of the season, the fresh meadow native took two first-place victories. 
 
Chea earned first place in the 200 Yard Individual melody with a time of 2:34.91. Later in the evening, the sophomore native would take first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a finish of 1:12.00. 
 
UP NEXT: The Knights return to the pool as they compete in the SJC (LI) Tri-Meet against host St. Joseph's College and John Jay College on Saturday (Oct. 30). Action slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
