BETHPAGE, N.Y. – In rainy conditions, the Queens College men's and women's cross country team competed at the Golden Eagle Invitational Sunday morning hosted by St. Joseph's College – LI.
The women's had four players finish in the top 50 to finish eighth overall while men's side was paced by two top twenty finish to finish 12
th overall.
Women's 5K
Sophomore
Alexis Hall (West River, MD) led the women's side with her best time of the season as she finished 26
th with a time of 21:27.72. Freshman
Natalia Cuttler (Islip, N.Y.) finished 32
nd with a time of 22:10.99.
Freshman
Fatima Morrobel (Long Beach, N.Y.) finished the course 23:10.71 to earn 45
th place, while teammate
Nicole Colombi (Wantagh, N.Y.) was just seven seconds behind to finish 46
th in 23:17.60.
To round the top 100 finishes, freshman
Melanie Rodriguez (East New York, N.Y.) completed the course with a time of 26:59.65. while sophomore
Bianca Hiltz (Southwick, Mass.) earned a 116
th just under a half-hour with a time of 29:24.68.
To round out the Knights morning, freshman
Aisha Khan (East Elmhurst, N.Y. ) finished the course with a time of 36:43.28.
Men's 8K
The men's team was paced by graduated student
Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who placed 8
th with a finish of 27:12.98. While junior
Steven Cuascut (Queens Village, N.Y.) finished in the top 20 with 16
th place with a course time of 28:05.00.
Freshman
Andrew O'Gorman (Melville, N.Y.) earned the 72
nd spot with a time of 30:52.12, while teammate
Tristan Alvarez-Gamboa (Ontario, CA) earned the 108
th finish in 33:56.60.
Valeriy Borkun (White Plains, N.Y.) rounded the course in 37:19.08, while freshman
Keith Hyland (Levittown, N.Y.) finished the course with a time of 38:21.24 to round out the afternoon.
UP NEXT: Head coach Rob Davis and the Knights travel to Kings Park, N.Y. to compete in the SJC Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 16) at 11:00 a.m.
