Diego Gonzalez Rips RBI Double in Loss to Dowling

Flushing, N.Y. - Queens College lost the series finale to Dowling, 9-2, in an East Coast Conference baseball game played in Flushing on Monday.  Diego Gonzalez had an RBI double in the game.

 

The Golden Lions scored a run in the top of the first off of QC starter Michael Lamneck.  Lamneck went 3.1 innings and allowed just one earned run.

 

The Golden Lions pushed the lead to 8-0 with two runs in the third and five more in the eighth.  Queens finally got on the scoreboard in the eighth.  Kevin Kolesar singled and stole second.  He came in on an RBI double by Gonzalez.

 

Dowling scored another in the ninth to take a 9-1 lead.  James Donohue led off the inning with a base hit.  Rob Beiter walked and Peter Caravousanos was hit by the pitch and the bases were loaded.  From there, Thomas Parish drove in the second run with a walk.  Dowling went on to win 9-2.

 

The Queens College  baseball team returns to action on Wednesday, April 8, when they face Dominican College at Provident Bank Park in Pomona, New York.  The first pitch is slated for 7:00 PM.
