Women's Tennis Improves to 6-0 with 9-0 Defeat of Dowling

Oakdale, N.Y. - The Queens College women's tennis team improved to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the East Coast Conference with a 9-0 win against Dowling on Sunday.  The Knights dominated play and won every game in every match of the day.

In doubles, Yevgeniya (Jenna) Plevako and Angelika Sobiecka blanked the Golden Lions' best pair, 8-0.  Andrea Samson and Cami Abdallah also won their doubles match by the same, 8-0 score.  Finally, the combination of Sumeera Kamil and Olivia Stauffer won via forfeit.

In singles play, Stauffer picked up her first win in singles play, defeating Tori Gallagher, 8-0.  Plevako won at first singles, and Samson and Abdallah were victorious in their singles flights as well.  Sobiecka and Molly Fanelli won via forfeit.

The Queens College women's tennis team returns to action on Tuesday, October 14, when they face Georgian Court on the road.  The opening serve is slated for 4:00 PM.
