FLUSHING, N.Y. – Continuing East Coast Conference play Tuesday afternoon, the No. 18 Queens College women's tennis team welcomed the D'Youville University Saints to the QC Indoor Tennis Bubble, earning a dominant 7-0 victory.
The Knights swept all nine matches on the afternoon, with sophomore
Johanne Genestay (Dinan, France) clinching the win at No. 5 singles.
With the victory, Queens improves to 9-3 overall and 6-0 in ECC play.

Doubles Play
Queens took control early by sweeping doubles competition to secure the opening point.
At No. 3 doubles, senior
Lydia Zafeiri (Athens, Greece) and sophomore
Johanne Genestay (Dinan, France) opened play with a 6-0 victory over Maria Campisi and Yeli Prokopenko.
The No. 2 duo of juniors
Lilie Bizouerne (La Ciotat, France) and
Sixtine Goubet (Lyon, France) followed with a 6-1 win against Erika Ismailova and Mina Randjelovic to clinch the doubles point.
At the top flight, the nationally ranked No. 24 pair of senior
Marie Bertran (Villelaure, France) and freshman
Ela Vasic (Novi Sad, Serbia) completed the sweep with a 6-3 victory over Munisa Ashurbekova and Nele Herstat.
Singles Play
Senior
Regina Ruiz (Mexico City, Mexico) opened singles action with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory over Prokopenko at No. 6 to begin the sweep.
No. 22 Bizouerne shut out Ismailova at No. 3 singles, before Genestay clinched the match with another straight-set shutout at No. 5 against Maria Campisi.
At No. 4 singles, rookie Vasic recorded a 6-3, 6-2 win over Randjelovic to give Queens its fifth point of the afternoon.
The top two flights both went the distance. At No. 2 singles, No. 62 Goubet battled back after dropping the opening set 4-6 to Herstat, responding with a 6-2 second-set win. In the deciding 10-point tiebreaker, Goubet trailed 6-1 before rallying with nine straight points to secure a 10-6 victory and the sixth point of the match.
At No. 1 singles, No. 73 Bertran won the first set 7-5 against Ashurbekova before falling 3-6 in the second. In the match tiebreak, Bertran trailed 5-2 before winning eight of the final nine points to earn a 10-6 victory and complete the sweep.
